Full Moon in Sagittarius
SUNDAY, JUNE 7, 2009

Hello Everyone,

The Full Moon on June 7th at 2:13 pm EDT falls in the sign of Sagittarius. This is the culmination, or “reaping” of the cycle that was initiated 14 days ago with the New Moon in Gemini. What was “seeded” then should now bear fruit. What intentions did you send to Spirit during the New Moon time? Notice what is manifesting in your life now that the planet Mercury is moving direct once again. (Mercury Retrograde finally turned direct on
May 30th).

The planet Jupiter (the largest in our solar system) is the “ruler” of Sagittarius, and as such, it expands our world view; bringing with it a sense of cosmic adventure, as well as our own personal “quest” for Higher Truth. (For more on Jupiter, see last month’s New Moon update posted on my website).

New Moons and Full Moons are cosmic portals which pierce through the veil of time and space allowing us to expand our perception beyond the constraints of material 3D reality.  The three days prior and three days after a Full Moon are especially potent times for releasing physical, mental and emotional blockages. The peak of this particular Full Moon coincides with “Saga Dawa”, the Tibetan celebration of the birth and enlightenment of the Buddha.  The Festival of the Christ is also celebrated on this Full Moon June 7th.   According to the Lucis Trust, the celebration of this Full Moon is called “World Invocation Day” and carries the “keynote of humanity aspiring to God and blending many different spiritual approaches in one united act of invocation”.

Sagittarius is a fire sign and symbolizes Man’s spontaneous quest for knowledge; the spirit of Prometheus stealing fire from the gods in order to enlighten humanity.  The sign Sagittarius governs our personal belief systems, our philosophy of life, our spiritual search for the meaning of life…..How do we perceive God and/ or the “God particle”? Is there life on Mars? If so, do they have “souls”?  Will Creationism be carried to far-flung galaxies?? Are we “locked down” in a perpetual parochial reality, or will we finally access the codes to the higher dimensions of Light?  As we move into more awareness of our Galactic “being-ness”, Sagittarius charts the course for expanded consciousness. It is no accident that in the movie “2001: A Space Odyssey”, the planet that served as the “guiding force” for humanity was Jupiter, the ruler of Sagittarius.
This Full Moon in Sagittarius falls within 2 degrees of the Galactic Center.   As we are hurtle through space towards this incredible  electromagnetic force field, we are being impelled AND compelled to open our eyes to “New Frontiers”…2010, a Space Odyssey, anyone?
Yesterday’s science fiction is today’s reality.

PERSONALLY SPEAKING

During any Full Moon, the Sun and Moon are in opposite signs. This month, Sun is in the Air sign, Gemini, and the Moon is in the Fire, sign, Sagittarius.  The Fire/Air polarity has a tendency to “speak first and

think later”, but this could also trigger the response for a much needed action.  Sagittarius tends to be optimistic, adventurous, and good humored most of the time, but can become a vehement opponent when personal beliefs, political beliefs, and religious beliefs are at stake. Sagittarius asks:  “Can you walk your talk without forcing others to see it your way?”  The shadow side of Sagittarius is fanaticism and dogma.
This Full Moon also makes a wide opposition (a challenging aspect) to the planet Pluto. It will be important to meditate during this time on where you actually do have control over in your life, and where you need to surrender to Spirit. How do you deal with your sense of “personal power”? Do you run away from it? Give it away? Continually set up power struggles in relationships? If you see a repeating theme, now is the time to “give it up”. Pluto gives us a tremendous amount of inner intensity to cut and remove all obstacles, but first it is necessary to recognize the Shadow with compassion and put down the “sword of judgment”. Ask yourself: “What would Buddha do??“

In the meantime, Venus and Mars are exactly conjunct in Taurus. This is a tremendously positive aspect, as Venus is in her “home” sign of Taurus, which rules love, beauty and abundance. When Venus and Mars are together, “sparks” fly, and it is a positive time for romance and relationship. The downside is you may be tempted to over-indulge your appetites and overspend your finances, but since both Venus and Mars also make a very powerful trine (a positive flow of energy) with Pluto at this time, this is a good time for reestablishing and reinvigorating relationships (business and personal), as well as recovering “lost” financial ground and/or security. If you are thinking of re-investing or re-financing, or seeing your bank manager for any reason, this may be a good time (depending on where the conjunction falls in your natal chart). Once again, remember what you asked to have “seeded” into action on the New Moon last month.  The Full Moon usually bears results.

All this intense planetary energy focused around such an expansive Full Moon makes it perfect for a celebration: gather friends together and have a fire ceremony (bon-fire); share experiences of other cultures and faraway places.  This is a great night to deepen wisdom though meditation, chanting, and prayer. Have your group “moon-gaze” under the vast ocean of stars above us.  This is the time to step up to the plate not just as a global, but as a “cosmic citizen”.  The healing energy of Jupiter/Neptune/Chiron in Aquarius (the Visionary) and Uranus in Pisces (the Awakener) joins the grounded, bodily experience of Saturn in Virgo to form a rainbow bridge connecting personal insight with global awakening.

The SABIAN SYMBOL for the FULL MOON at 18 degrees Sagittarius:  “Children playing on the beach, their heads protected by sunbonnets.”
This Sabian Symbol emphasizes the connection with like-minded and like-hearted individuals, remaining receptive to new ideas, but also remaining discriminating at the same time.

NEW MOON IN CANCER – JUNE 22, 2009

The New Moon in Cancer falls on June 22nd at 3:36pm EDT one day after the Summer Solstice occurs in the Northern Hemisphere. Cancer is the primordial water sign and during this time we are subject to more intense emotions, unconscious projections and psychic phenomenon.
The essence of the Cancerian archetype is the Great Mother, the Grail, the “container” of both spiritual and physical growth. The sign of Cancer has long been associated with the Goddess in all her myriad forms of creation, the Moon, the unconscious, the emotional body and the astral/psychic worlds.
At the Summer Solstice (June 21st), the forms we have manifested since the Winter Solstice in December must now be nourished and provided with supportive structures. In the Great Wheel of the Year, the Summer Solstice celebrates the abundance and fertility of our Mother Earth.  It is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere with the most sunlight available. It is a time to enjoy life and celebrate our true lineage as Sons and Daughters of the Light. In the ancient religions as well as indigenous cultures around the globe, the Summer Solstice (Midsummer’s Eve) is regarded as time to pay homage to the God (the sun) in his role as consort to the Great Mother ( the Earth).

At this Solstice (June 21st), both Venus and Mars (the archetypal energies of the Sacred Marriage) exactly conjoin in the sign of Taurus highlighting the balancing of male/female energies. Taurus is a feminine Earth sign and deals with the five senses of the physical body, hearing, touch, taste, smell and sight.  Taurus is also the sign connected to the constellation Pleiades and the Goddess Hathor (the Goddess of Beauty, Love, and Music) in ancient Egypt. Our true star lineage is being awakened within the cellular structure of our bodies. As we are able to contain more light within our pineal gland, and the “Sacred Marriage” between the pineal and pituitary glands occur, we are also remembering ancient sounds that have been encoded within our DNA and unlocking ancient memories that open new pathways in the brain. The Body is the Temple, and Sound is the Key.

PERSONALLY SPEAKING:
Whether you inhabit a male or female body, whether you have a family, or live as a solitary being, you have a connection to the Great Mother. Get in touch with Her through the Earth. This New Moon is the perfect time to spend some time meditating in nature. Take your crystals into the sunlight and listen to them speak. Smell the green grass and feel the strength of a tree against your back. Listen to the songs of the birds; their sounds hold many codes to expand consciousness. If you have a loved one, invite them to a picnic …sit on the earth and feel Her energy move through you, as you partake of Her bounty. If you are not in relationship, invite friends, or treat yourself.  Give thanks for what you have in your life at this moment, and prepare the way for “the new” to come in. The New Moon is always a “seeding “time.  What would you like to manifest over the next 2 weeks….emotionally? Psychically? Materially? How can you best midwife your own creativity? Are you truly expressing your heart in your most significant relationships? Are you in a satisfied relationship with yourself? Where do you need to release old programming around the feminine? All issues having to do with birth/death, male/female relationships, children and home/security will come up in the news over the next 2 weeks and probably become much more heated before they become resolved: same sex marriage, stem cell research, “octo-moms”, missing/abused children ….

The U.S. is a Cancerian country (born on the 4th of July), and so is China. Russia is a Capricorn country (the opposite polarity). There may be news stories involving all three coming up over the next two weeks, as well.
With Pluto’s close opposition to this New Moon, we will have a profound opportunity to shed light into the darkest points of consciousness regarding the “split” between emotions and the body.
We are still very much in the midst of the Grand Triple Conjunction  Jupiter/Neptune/Chiron in 25-26 degrees of Aquarius. This MAJOR aspect will be with us until next year.

( From last month’s  New Moon update, which is worth repeating:

Much of what is considered to be the “New Age” movement is characterized by the reappearance of Jupiter, Neptune and Chiron together. Chiron (first sighted in the 1977) is the asteroid named after the Greek centaur, which is called “the wounded healer” in ancient Greek mythology. Chiron taught astrology, healing, and shamanism to the young gods of Mount Olympus.  At this time, the asteroid Chiron amplifies quantum leaps in alternative medicine, energy healing and spiritual technologies, such as astrology, homeopathy, reiki and cellular rejuvenation. Neptune is the planet that increases our spiritual awareness, attunes us to our divinity through nature and the arts, and helps to bridge the schism between science and religion, SPIRIT AND BODY.)

THE SABIAN SYMBOL FOR 2 DEGREES CANCER: “A man on a magic carpet hovers over a large area of land; the ability to expand one’s consciousness by stabilizing one’s point of view at a higher level.” As we transcend duality, we see a far greater reality.
